Challenges Uganda has been supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and young people in Uganda since 2014.

Our mission is rooted in crafting enterprising solutions to global challenges.

‍Since our establishment in Kampala in 2014, Challenges Uganda has supported over 150 growth-potential social enterprises. We have delved into diverse sectors like agriculture, renewable energy, education, technology and others, empowering businesses in these sectors to thrive. Additionally, we have facilitated employment support for over 200 young Ugandans, equipping them with practical skills and accredited management training from the Chartered Management Institute.

Our programs are founded on empirical learning, empowering individuals to apply new skills in their workplaces. We offer training in Management & Leadership, customizable for various managerial levels. Our collaboration with organizations such as the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the Uganda Solar Energy Association (USEA) underscores our commitment to building capacity within crucial sectors.

We have implemented projects like the Youth to Work program, a flagship initiative with the Futuremakers by Standard Chartered Foundation, focused-on Entrepreneurship and Employability aimed at empowering young professionals and building the capacity of Small and Growing Businesses.

Challenges Uganda provides business advisory to green enterprises under the Uganda Green Enterprise Finance Accelerator (UGEFA). Our advisory team guides green enterprises through a comprehensive and finance-focused accelerator programme to develop the business and financial skills needed to access financing and scale their positive environmental impacts and employment contributions.

Under this project, Challenges Uganda combines diagnostic analysis, capacity building, partnership engagement, and ongoing support to create a comprehensive framework that addresses the needs of entrepreneurs with disabilities.
